Prefabulous Small Houses Now in Print…
Prefab home construction has arrived! In the recently released book Prefabulous Small Houses (The Taunton Press, 2016), author Sheri Koones explores the beauty, variety, design, and positive benefits of small-scale, prefab construction. Written especially with homeowners, remodelers, builders, architects, and designers in mind, its pages are brimming with detail on the innovative technologies and environmentally friendly unique to prefab design.
With a powerful foreword by actor and environmentalist Robert Redford, Prefabulous Small Houses showcases more than thirty prefab homes ranging in size from 350 square feet to 2,000 square feet from around the nation, including New England. Massachusetts is prominently accounted for in the Dennisport Bayview Cottage pictured above. With 250 stunning color photos and 32 floor plans, the book provides just the inspiration readers need to think small, smart, and prefabulous.
I hope that my books have created more informed homeowners who will build homes that they will throughly enjoy living in – that are healthy, sustainable, energy efficient and beautiful.
The book’s author, Ms. Koones is considered an expert on prefabrication. Her previous books include Modular Mansions, Prefabulous, Prefabulous + Sustainable, Prefabulous + Almost Off the Grid, and Prefabulous World. She won the prestigious Robert Bruss Real Estate Book Award from NAREE (National Association of Real Estate Editors) in 2008, 2011, and 2013. Koones is also a columnist and speaker who lives in Westport, Connecticut. “While I was reviewing the various methods of construction for a prior book project, I discovered modular construction, which I found incredibly exciting. In the last few years I have found other methods of prefab construction which I believe are also wonderful methods of building a house. I hope that my books have created more informed homeowners who will build homes that they will throughly enjoy living in – that are healthy, sustainable, energy efficient and beautiful.”
