Coming to a City Near Us…
Let it shine, shine, shine all around the world…
Why? Because it’s daybreak of course. So charges, the team behind Daybreaker. What began as a small social experiment and an art project among friends in the basement of an New York City coffee shop has swiftly morphed into a movement connecting kindred spirits locally and globally who are consciously choosing to live life differently. “We gather in community to participate in something greater than ourselves. Daybreaker is about choosing to live life differently, choosing to be happy, and choosing to pursue the best versions of ourselves.” This from the company’s co-founders Matt Brimer and Radha Agrawal. Bright and early tomorrow morning, Boston will be their place of gathering and yoga their lane for rising and shining. Tomorow’s event, billed as as a “jungle safari”, begins along Rowes Wharf with a sunrise practice at 5:45 followed by a dance party (with live music) from 6:30 – 9 AM aboard the MV New Boston. Healthy snacks and fresh juices will be served up alongside the prana and music.
Mindfulness, wellness, self-expression, camaraderie and a dose of mischief form the pillars of what the growing company is all about. From the mountains of Denver to London’s city streets, the team behind Daybreaker will stop at nothing to ensure that their audiences launch into their days happy and sporting the best versions of themselves. They wholeheartedly believe that transformation happens through a vigorous blend of community and movement. “Time is all we have, and when our lives become routine and predictable, our perception of time actually speeds up. Daybreaker is about coming together to wake up our senses — all of them. It’s about creating consciousness around the habits we form. It’s about exploring our fears, being spontaneous, saying F-YEAH! It’s about radically accepting the people we meet for the incredible humans they are—and it’s about radically accepting ourselves in the same right.” A doctrine not too far off from Mr. Manilow’s when he cautioned us (in song) of folks “caught in the spin… running around, year after year…”
In partnership with the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, the Daybreakers have launched a new arm, TableMakers, as an avenue for spreading their community mantra to the dinner table. Here’s how it works according to the website… If you’ve attended to two or more Daybreaker events, you become eligible to apply for a micro grant to host a Friday night dinner for you and your friends. You design, cook and host a dinner party with intention, intelligence and ingenuity. TableMakers covers the groceries and provides the host with a dinner kit to set the mood and the table. What they hope will unfold over the course of the evening is much more than a meal. “It’s an experience of the same mindfulness, love and mischief that Daybreaker is all about.”
Stay tuned to the Daybreaker line-up of events through Facebook and Instagram, and take back your morning!
